Meet Backpack, The 2026 Fat Bear Week Winner

After seven days of fierce competition, a big bear is taking home the prize in this year’s Fat Bear Week. Backpack faced stiff competition, but being a Fat Bear Week winner runs in his family: his mother has also held the esteemed title! Another sweet fact: Backpack got his nickname because park officials used to spot him as a cub, frequently clinging to his mother’s back. Congratulations, Backpack! ? ?
