The 2026 American Music Awards were jam-packed with star power and high-energy performances! Queen Latifah returned to host the night, after previously serving as co-host in 1995. Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Billy Idol took the stage following an emotional speech, calling the honor ‘an incredible cap to the year.’ The star-studded special also featured a Black Eyed Peas reunion and a Pussycat Dolls performance, celebrating the group’s 20th anniversary with a hits medley. BTS made a triumphant return after four years away, opening the show with a pre-recorded performance of ‘Hooligan,’ filmed during the group’s Las Vegas tour stop over the weekend. The performance marked BTS’ first American awards show appearance since completing military service in Korea. Taylor Swift entered the night as the most-nominated artist, but did not attend the event
