Domino Dauphinoise Potatoes ?✨ Crispy, golden edges with a creamy, garlicky center? Say less. These beautifully layered potatoes are baked in a sage-infused cream sauce, topped with Parmesan, and finished with fresh chives for the ultimate side dish. ?
INGREDIENTS:
- 1.5 lbs russet potatoes
- 1½ cups heavy cream
- 1 bunch sage
- 1 bunch thyme
- 5 bay leaves
- 4 garlic cloves
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 3 tbsp garlic powder
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 bunch chives, finely chopped
PREPARATION
1. In a saucepan over medium-low heat, bring the heavy cream to a gentle simmer.
2. Add the garlic cloves, sage, and half of the thyme. Remove from heat and let infuse for 30 minutes.
3. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Wash, peel, and thinly slice the potatoes using a mandoline or sharp knife.
4. In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter with the garlic powder and a generous pinch of salt.
5. Season the sliced potatoes with 2 tsp salt. Arrange them upright in rows in an 8-inch round baking dish, like dominoes.
6. Strain the infused cream and pour it over the potatoes. Drizzle with the garlic butter.
7. Top with freshly cracked black pepper, the remaining thyme, bay leaves, and ¼ cup Parmesan.
8. Bake for 1 hour, until the potatoes are tender. Broil on high for 4–6 minutes, or until the tops are crispy and golden.
9. Finish with chopped chives, the remaining ¼ cup Parmesan, extra salt, and freshly cracked black pepper. Serve warm and enjoy! ??
