President Trump led his cabinet in a round of applause for outgoing national intelligence director Tulsi Gabbard as she prepares to step down on June 30 to care for her cancer-stricken husband.
"I want to express our tremendous gratitude to our outgoing Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, who's a terrific person, actually," the president said.
"Tulsi has worked tirelessly to restore trust and focus on the intelligence."
Trump praised Gabbard for declassifying records, reducing staff by 40%, investigating alleged fraud in the 2020 election, and exposing "mountains of evidence related to the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax."
"Tulsi, we're praying for you and for your husband," he said. "Her husband's not feeling great, but he's going to feel great soon. You're going to make him better, and he's a wonderful guy."
