Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet has been MIA since its 2024 reveal at The Game Awards, but developer Naughty Dog says that will change next year. The game will get a full reveal—and maybe even a release date—sometime in 2027, and studio head Neil Druckmann asked for fans' patience while the devs 'cook for just a little bit longer.' In other news, former PlayStation Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida thinks Sony and Nintendo need to hang onto the the current generation of consoles for as long as they can. Skyrocketing electronics component prices will likely put any new console out of reach for a lot of gamers, and there seems to be no rush to move on from the troubled PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 generation. And finally, Zach Cregger's Resident Evil movie adaptation was such a big hit, it boosted sales of some of the older game titles. Resident Evils 2 and 4 saw a 50% spike in sales on the PS5, no doubt also helped by a recent sale on those games.
