Video:15-year-old boy holding a toy gun shot by Ohio cop who was back on duty after being fired
WARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT. Distressing, newly released video shows a 15-year-old boy being shot by a previously fired Ohio cop who mistook his toy gun for a weapon.
The bodycam footage released Monday shows Akron police officer Ryan Westlake, 33, almost immediately shooting teen Tavion Koonce-Williams while responding to a 911 call that a black man was pointing a gun at houses on April 1, The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.
“Hey, where are you coming from? Can I see your hands real quick?” the officer shouts — before almost immediately shooting the teen in the right hand.
