Tiff Needell has never been the biggest fan of the Jaguar XJS. But this isn’t an ordinary XJS.
The TWR Supercat combines a 660bhp supercharged V12 with a six-speed manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive and completely reworked carbon-fibre bodywork. Just 88 will be built, with the finished price approaching £500,000 once VAT and a donor car are included.
For Tiff, this is also personal. He raced both in and against TWR machinery, including the fearsome Jaguar XJR-15. Now, more than four decades after first driving a TWR-prepared XJS, he’s getting behind the wheel of its modern successor.
