Olympic Canoeist Allegedly Did Over $1,000 Damage To Reflecting Pool With 'Bare Hands'
Former Olympic canoeist David Hearn tore up parts of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool's sealant, US Attorney for DC Jeanine Pirro claimed.
"Our evidence for those shows that the National Park Service employees observed Hearn actually forcefully and violently pulling up and removing the bottom liner with both hands," she said. "According to witnesses, Hurn damaged approximately two square feet of sealant from the bottom of the pool."
She noted that a National Parks Service employee "actually told Hearn to stop his behavior and stop what he was doing. Hearn reacted by shouting at that Park's employee ... 'Cared too much' about the reflecting pool."
