The award for the most embarrassing Olympics ever would have to go to the 1976 games in Montreal.
The architect was constantly late with his designs for the venues. The ground underneath the velodrome was too unstable to support the massive arches holding up the roof.
Water got into holes in the stadium ribs and then froze, cracking the concrete.
Corruption was rampant. Montreal was a laughing stock.
The opening ceremony was held in a venue that was still under construction.
