President Trump spoke with reporters on Air Force One following his trip to meet with Xi Jingping in China, where he was asked extensively about Taiwan. The President told the press that he didn't believe Xi wants war over the issue and that "I think we'll be fine" on that front, but he refused to confirm any decision about arm sales to Taiwan or if the US would defend the country if it came down to it. "Only I know the answer to that," he said.
