The reading section starts at a base pace of 200 words per minute, with extra pauses for punctuation. After the spoken introduction, the speech excerpt is silent so you can focus on reading.

Steve Jobs delivered this Commencement Address at Stanford University on June 12, 2005. In this third story he talks about death, time, and having the courage to follow your heart, and he closes with the words that became his sign-off: "Stay hungry. Stay foolish."
This reading challenge features a 715-word excerpt of the address. It is not the complete speech. Some paragraphs between the opening and the sign-off are omitted, and the wording follows the prepared text published by Stanford University.
