Glyptodonts were built for civil war and grew larger, stronger, and until they got to the size of cars and met the first peoples to enter South America. But despite being so massive and interesting we knew surprisingly little about them until very recently, when have had a late career glow up. They went from being thought of as just the shells of ancient giant ground sloths, to being the rivals of sabertooth cats, to now owning their own branch of the armadillo family tree and being the greatest 'dillo of all time.
