Oprah Winfrey reveals Whitney Houston once fell off the stage while performing on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show!’ Speaking at the 2026 Cannes Lions Festival, Oprah recalled the performance mishap, recorded in 2009, right after Whitney relapsed. Oprah pleaded with the audience not to post any photos or make the incident public, in order to protect Whitney from even more public scrutiny. The audience honored her request and the moment remained private to those in the room for years. In Whitney’s final performance on Oprah’s show, she sang the emotional ballad, ‘I Didn’t Know My Own Strength.’
