East Baton Rouge Parish is one of four jurisdictions nationwide selected to share nearly $300 million in federal funding through the Justice Department's Model Cities Initiative. The nearly $64 million investment can support hiring and retaining law enforcement personnel, upgrading crime-fighting technology, expanding forensic capabilities and funding mental health, substance use and rehabilitation services.
