An American Airlines plane carrying 181 people was taking off from Myrtle Beach when it hit a flock of birds, causing one of the plane’s engines to burst into flames. The pilots were able to turn the plane around and land safely. The aircraft has been taken out of service so it can be inspected by a maintenance team.
