Maddie Fries was just 10 months old when her family received a diagnosis of neurofibromatosis type 1, a genetic condition that causes tumors to grow on nerve tissue throughout the body. Then, doctors found two tumors growing along the nerves connecting her eyes to her brain. Maddie began chemotherapy when she was three that went on for fourteen months. Now five, Maddie is back to her normal routine and her tumors are stable. WKYC's Monica Robins reports.
