Boston-Bound Medical Flight PLUMMETS 13,000 Feet Before Mysteriously Disappearing Off Radar
Tragedy struck just off the coast of Nantucket on Saturday, after air traffic controllers became aware that a Boston-bound medical plane jetting off from Bermuda had suddenly disappeared off radar screens.
The Gulfstream G100 left Bermuda Saturday at 12:41 a.m. and plummeted more than 10,000 feet before losing contact with the Federal Aviation Administration at around 1:20 a.m., when the agency issued a Search and Rescue Alert notice.
The pilot of the doomed aircraft, which was carrying six people, declared an emergency at 12:46 a.m.
But new chilling ATC audio and a grim discovery by US Coast Guard personnel might shed some light into what transpired.
