Kellie Pickler Returns to ‘American Idol’ for First Major TV Appearance Since Husband’s Death

Kellie Pickler made an emotional return to 'American Idol,' performing a duet with top five contestant Hannah Harper. The duet marked Kellie's second public appearance since husband Kyle Jacobs' death by suicide in 2023, with the first being a tribute to Patsy Cline in 2024. Kellie, who placed sixth on the show's fifth season, told the audience, 'I'd be lying if I said I was not incredibly nervous right now.' The 'American Idol' season 24 finale airs Monday on ABC; episodes stream on Hulu.
