After confirming his return as both star and producer of a 'Days of Thunder' sequel, Tom Cruise announces Anne Hathaway will star opposite him in the big-screen follow-up to the 1990 racing movie. Tom's back as scrappy Cole Trickle, while Anne plays an as-yet-unnamed racecar team owner and engineer. Paramount Pictures hasn't revealed any other casting or plot details, but fans are flooding social media with ideas. The script is complete, and reunites Cruise with OG producer Jerry Bruckheimer. ET hit the track with a then-27-year-old Cruise after filming wrapped on the original, during which he met his future ex-wife, Nicole Kidman. The 'Days of Thunder' sequel is set to hit theaters on June 2, 2028.
