European leaders have rushed to congratulate Hungary's Péter Magyar after his landslide election victory over Viktor Orbán, who had been in power for 16 years.

Magyar told jubilant supporters that "truth prevailed over lies", adding that his government would work for a "European, well functioning and compassionate Hungary".
His Tisza party is on course to take 138 of the 199 parliamentary seats, giving them a big enough majority to change the constitution.
