Kenyan cult leader Paul Mackenzie and about 30 co-defendants were found guilty of murder in the deaths of 190 children and one adult tied to the Shakahola Forest starvation cult. Prosecutors said Mackenzie’s followers were ordered to starve themselves and their children to death in hopes of reaching heaven before the end of the world, with more than 400 bodies ultimately recovered from the forest.
