Anxiety is a situation where the nervous system enters the fight-or-flight state, because the brain perceives there is some type of danger. This often causes the heart to beat faster, blood rushes to the muscles causing tension, and the breathing rate speeds up.
Normally, It should be possible to relax soon after the threat is gone, however some people are unknowingly triggering this stress system with everyday habits, such as drinking caffeine on an empty stomach, supressing emotions or eating starchy breakfasts that cause blood sugar rollercoasters.
In this video I explain the 6 silent triggers of anxiety and cortisol (the primary stress hormone), and some simple ways to avoid them. I also cover some natural tips on how to relax the nervous system using nutrition, breathing and vocal techniques which help stimulate the vagus nerve.
