Qualcomm CEO Says 2026 Will Be the Year of AI Agents

“2026 is going to be the year of agents.”
Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon says AI agents could change the way people use their phones — with the agents operating apps, going to the cloud and carrying out tasks on users’ behalf.
He compares the shift to the move from feature phones to smartphones: apps are not dead, he says, but they are about to change.
“Those agents are going to be the new app," Amon added.
