
NHS sees biggest improvement in waiting times in 16 years
In his resignation letter today, Wes Streeting said he was departing as Health Secretary with the NHS "on the road to recovery", pointing to figures out today.

The government has hit some of its key targets. 65% of patients are now being treated within 18 weeks, the biggest improvement in waiting times in 16 years. It's been the best year on record for elective care, and ambulance delays are also down.
