
Third British national has suspected hantavirus infection linked to cruise ship outbreak
A third British national has been diagnosed with suspected hantavirus, in connection with the outbreak on board the cruise ship MV Hondius.

The patient is currently on the remote island of Tristan da Cunha, in the South Atlantic Ocean, where the ship docked in mid-April.
The viral outbreak has been linked to the deaths of three passengers, a Dutch couple and a German woman. Five of eight suspected cases have been confirmed as hantavirus.
