Iran war: Trump says ‘great progress’ on deal to end war

Donald Trump announced that 'Project Freedom' would see the US military protecting shipping in the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday.

Then on Tuesday, his Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that Operation Fury was over, reiterating that Project Freedom was the new goal.
But Tuesday night, the US president announced he was pausing it. The reason - 'great progress' had apparently been made towards a peace deal. Iran said the US proposal was 'still being considered'.
