Solo Woman’s Mortgage-Free $80k Tiny Home in a Micro Community
This week we visit Aynslie’s incredible mortgage-free $80k tiny home, set within a beautiful five-acre micro community beside the river. Built over two years with help from talented friends, this tiny house is full of creativity, colour, clever design and personality.
Aynslie began her tiny house journey with very little building experience, joking that only a few years ago she didn’t know what a hammer was. Now, she has created a home that is completely her own, filled with stained glass windows, recycled timber, theatre lights, smart storage, a hidden pulley TV, a home office loft, a rooftop wine deck and even a special outdoor enclosure for her very spoiled cat.
Her tiny home is part of a small intentional community where friends share gardens, food, potluck dinners and a more sustainable way of living. With minimal rent, no mortgage and a strong connection to the land and people around her, Aynslie has found a wonderfully affordable and resilient way to live.
We hope you enjoy the tour of this magical self-built tiny home.
