Sneaky Suspect Busted After Stashing Himself in Vancouver Mall's Ceiling
A Vancouver Police Department shift took a bizarre turn when officers responded to reports of a suspect crawling through the ceiling of a department store at the Vancouver Mall, damaging tiles, lights, and wiring. After the second floor was evacuated, officers and firefighters spent over an hour trying to coax the man down using a ladder and a safety mattress. When the suspect attempted to climb back upward after stepping onto the ladder, officers pulled it away, causing him to fall onto the mattress; he then tried to flee on foot before being quickly apprehended. Identified as Gabriel Hideo, the suspect was taken into custody and booked on charges of first-degree malicious mischief, first-degree burglary, and an outstanding felony warrant.
