Nigel Farage did not show up at the Clacton by-election results announcement after his win, with a spokesperson saying that Essex Police told Farage that there was a "credible threat" against him.

However, Channel 4 News understands that the force did not issue that warning to him or any candidate and emphasised a robust police operation at the by-election.
Channel 4 News' Amelia Jenne was at the count and spoke spoke about the reports to Reform UK spokesperson and councillor Jaymey McIvor and acting returning officer Ian Davidson.
