The bodies of several elite climbers and their guides have been safely retrieved from the slopes of one of the world’s highest mountains after they were swept away in an avalanche last week.

Nirmal Purja, the record-breaking British-Nepali mountaineer and former Special Boat Service soldier, was among the five bodies recovered from Broad Peak in Pakistan.
Two of the ten climbers remain missing, with rescue efforts hampered by extreme weather conditions.
