The opportunity to travel has been the greatest contributing factor to my understanding of life, the world and my happiness, but it can be a stressful a scary thought for many. Getting on a plane and going to the other side of the world sounds easy enough, but there are a lot of things to consider. If you can afford it, it is absolutely worth the money to hire a guide. Someone that can help with the language barrier, food, transportation etc... But it is still very much possible to do it all on your own and have a very successful and enjoyable trip. I am fortunate to have gotten to travel quite extensively when I worked on cruise ships, but I am still learning a lot about how to travel within my own business. This is a list of things that I think will help you plan for your next trip, and I hope Japan is on that list. These are good things to consider for a visit to any country, but certain aspects are certainly important to consider for a trip to Japan.
