Whats Left of Dry Town | Ghost Town After the Fire | Destination Adventure
Dry town, is a branch of Telegraph Creek that quickly becoming forgotten, because almost nothing is left. A ghost town beside a ghost town is an easy thing to overlook, and I only knew about it because of the locals, and I am sure glad to have support from the locals for this exact reason. The best discoveries often come from a recommendation from a local.
My time in this area has been so enjoyable, and I am so happy I had time to fit this one in as well. I asked around as to why it was called Dry Town, but nobody had an answer for me, but it doesn't seem to be related to alcohol which is surprising. I am not sure how large this section of town was in its day, but unfortunately almost all of it was lost in a fire. This was not uncommon back in the day, because here in Canada nearly everything was built out of wood, and a small spark can become a big problem. Never the less, for the keen eyed explorer, there is still much to see and discover.
