Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server Support in UE 5.8 | State of Unreal | Unreal Fest Chicago 2026
Unreal Engine 5.8 ships with experimental Model Context Protocol (MCP) server support, bringing agentic workflows into the editor.
MCP is an open standard that enables agents to connect directly to a project. Rather than acting as assistants that simply copy and paste, these agents become active collaborators that understand and operate within specific Unreal Engine workflows.
