Vantablack VBx2 paint absorbs 99% of light, a car painted in VBx2 can be interpreted by the brain as staring into a hole or even a void, to give you an idea of what that actually looks like, Vantablack has been described as the closest thing to a black hole, we'll ever see.
Because the paint absorbs 99% of light, this effect hides all of the surface features and curves of the car, as the human eye perceives a VBx2 Painted surface, as two-dimensional.
Making VBx2 a rather unsuitable vehicle paint finish, as it blots out virtually all the design details, curves and highlights.
BMW took advantage of this paint, when testing their new BMW X6 model on public roads, when a new car is being test driven on public roads, and the company does not want any design secrets revealed just yet, they cover the car in a camouflaging theme to hide the styling features of the car. But for the launch of the BMW X6, the client wanted to do something completely different, by taking this camouflaging concept to the next level, by spraying the car in VBx2, and create the world’s blackest car.
