Today I'm making a piece of electronic music and then making a full music video for it — without ever leaving the app ?
First I fed it Super People, my Latin disco number from Sunlightsquare. It worked out the tempo, found the structure, read the lyrics, and then asked me what I wanted. Backup dancers dressed as disco balls? Approved. And the thing it really excels at is making people DANCE — the choreography lands in time with the music, and there's lip sync in there too.
Then I made something completely different: an ambient, weird, avant-garde piece on the ARP 2600 and the Rhodes, and asked for something abstract and cinematic. No characters, just landscape. What came back genuinely looks like art.
Here's what I love about tools like this. It's not that they can do what I can do — it's that they can do what I CANNOT do. I don't know how to deal with storyboards. This makes the storyboard for me, inside the same app I'm making the music in. You stop worrying about the production and start DJing it into existence.
