
Government to accept Southport inquiry findings
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood says the government will accept in full all the recommendations from the first phase of the Southport Inquiry pledging to do "whatever is needed to protect the public".

The inquiry found that the murders of Bebe King, Elsie Dot Stancombe and Alice da Silva Aguiar "could and should have been prevented" if agencies had acted to stop the killer Axel Rudakubana before his attack in July 2024.
