Prime Minister Keir Starmer has pledged to do everything he can to stamp out antisemitic hatred, pleading with people to “open their eyes to Jewish pain, Jewish suffering and Jewish fear”. Starmer was heckled when he visited Golders Green Thursday afternoon.
The alleged attacker, 45-year-old Essa Suleiman, was briefly caught in The Met's anti-extremism net and there are now questions about the Prevent programme after it emerged the suspect had been referred 6 years ago, but his case was closed.
British Jews and their families no longer feel safe on their own neighbourhood streets and an increasing number are thinking of moving to Israel in a time of war.
This is the reality after yet another attack that has now made the government raise the terror threat level to severe, one below critical. It means another attack is highly likely in the next six months.
