The Alpine A110 is going electric, but can one of the best lightweight sports cars of recent times keep its magic without a petrol engine?
The French performance brand is on a mission to create the first true electric-powered sports car. It has created an entirely new platform called APP, which will be used for most of Alpine’s future sports cars, from the new A110 to a 2+2 GT. And with Alpine promising to keep weight down and driving enjoyment very much at the top of the agenda, the future looks exciting for this storied sports car maker.
In this video, Batch takes a look at a design study for the new third-generation A110, and tells the story of APP. We won’t be seeing the proper car until late 2027, but this is our clearest idea of the car yet.
