This is a really fun way to approach a 12-bar blues, especially when you're playing guitar with someone else. Instead of comping chords over the progression, you're playing a bass-like line that locks in with the low end and gives the whole thing a different kind of groove.
The idea is built around the root note of each chord, with a short walking phrase that includes a little chromatic leading tone before it resolves.
It works great as a duet part alongside someone strumming chords, or as an alternate way to drive a blues on your own.
