'Tiger Queen': escaped tiger shot dead by German police after attacking handler
A tiger thought to be owned by Germany's so-called 'Tiger Queen' Carmen Zander has been shot dead by police after it attacked its 73-year-old handler.
The fully grown tiger escaped from its enclosure and ran to nearby gardens, leading to a large-scale response by armed police. They then used drones to make sure that other animals had not escaped. Carmen Zander has kept a group of tigers in what critics say are cramped conditions at the site near Leipzig.
