One Pick, Three Notes — Blues Flurry Trick
This one's a great addition to your blues guitar vocabulary. I'm in E minor pentatonic and leaning into that flat five, the blues note, to give the whole thing that extra grit and tension.
The efficiency trick here is what I love most. One pick stroke gets you three notes on the G string with a hammer-on into the blues note, and that's the kind of thing that makes a phrase sound busier and more fluid than the effort you're actually putting in.
Then flipping it with pull-offs going the other direction gives you instant variation without having to think up something completely new. Throw a slide into the blues note on top of that and you've got a ton of options from one small idea. Go have fun with that one!
