Police say the former MP Ann Widdecombe was attacked 24 hours before she was found dead at home, as they release the 26-year-old man arrested yesterday without charge.

Police say the investigation into the suspected murder is moving at a "significant pace". A major incident portal has been set up and they are urging people to come forward with any information. They insisted they "do not believe there is a wider risk to the public" and repeated their plea for people not to speculate.
