Michigan is one of the most unusual states in the entire country. If you didn't know, it's the only state where a significant part of its landmass is physically disconnected from its main body. This is the Upper Peninsula,a largely undeveloped, wild piece of land in Michigan's far north. So how did Michigan come to own this large chunk of land, and why does Ohio have a huge part in this story?
