France has passed a law banning social media for under-15s, becoming the second country to do so and the first in Europe.

From September, they will not be able to open accounts and age verification will be required on all new accounts. Then from January, everyone in France must prove they are over 15 to access social media.
President Emmanuel Macron has welcomed the move.
