What actually happens when new PMs meet King?

Andy Burnham has arrived at Buckingham Palace to meet King Charles III and officially become the UK's seventh Prime Minister in a decade.

The appointment is made during a centuries-old ceremony known as "kissing hands", a tradition in which the King formally invites the new leader into the House of Commons to form a government.
Burnham will then travel to Downing Street, where he's expected to deliver his first speech as Prime Minister outside Number 10.
