Cupra Born is, in a nutshell, Volkswagen ID. 3 by Seat. Cupra is Seat’s sports brand. In 2019, Seat unveiled the el-Born concept, called after a trendy neighborhood in Barcelona. Although Born lost the el, it was sent to the more expensive Cupra brand. Due to positioning.
Technically, the Cupra Born is very similar to the ID. 3, but the Spanish brand's model has been tuned for a more sporty feel. You can choose a 58 or 77 kWh battery model. The 58 kWh version gets optional e-Boost, which adds 27 horsepower and reduces the 0-100 km/h time from 7.3 to 6.6 seconds.
The 77 kWh Cupra Born has e-Boost as standard, but the 0-100 km/h time is 7 seconds, because of heavier batteries. Like in the ID. 3, also Born with 77 kWh batteries has a 4-seat homologation.
