The Mazda CX-60 is a completely new model on the new Mazda Skyactiv Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture. The new platform underpinning the Mazda CX-60 is a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive platform. It allows not only for a PHEV powertrain - a first for Mazda - but also implies longitudinal placement of the engine. This in turn allows the use of 6-cylinder inline motors. In some markets the Mazda CX-60 is already available with a straight-six diesel, and a straight-six petrol is in the cards as well.
