Why Ships Use Moonpools
Lowering delicate equipment over a ship’s side in rough seas is dangerous. The vessel rolls, the crane swings, and the load can slam into the hull.
A moonpool moves the operation into the centre of the ship, where the hull shields it from the worst of the sea.
