Amelia Jenne is in Marcheprime, near Bordeaux, which is among the communities hit by a major wildfire in southwestern France, where more than 220,000 people were evacuated as firefighters fought to contain the flames.

The blaze destroyed over 200 properties and came within 15 kilometres of Bordeaux’s metropolitan area, leaving residents to return to a landscape of smoke, damage and destruction as the fire was brought under control.
