The coastal region of Narta is one of the most biodiverse and pristine areas in Europe.
It’s home to endangered monk seals, Dalmatian pelicans and thousands of flamingos who’ve lent their name, and image, to ongoing nationwide protests, which are posing a serious challenge to the authorities.
The spark for the so-called Flamingo Revolution is a planned luxury development on a nature reserve by Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner.
It has angered environmentalists and caused Albanians to question who decides the future of their country. Protesters are calling on Prime Minister Edi Rama to resign, and we ask him how he feels about the growing movement.
